But, DailyMail says Meghan Markle can't entirely be blamed for the move.
According to multiple sources quoted by the publication, Indeed, Harry's marriage to Meghan has hastened Prince William and Prince Harry's decision to go their separate ways in terms of living arrangements. But, even if Harry hadn't married Meghan, later down the line, the brothers' paths will naturally diverge as William steps up to become the Prince of Wales.
According to the source, Meghan's arrival to the royal family has indeed "shaken" things up a little, both because of her "opinionated personality" and also because of Harry's determination that his wife should get her own way. Harry has been quoted as saying, "what Meghan wants, Meghan gets".
It is indeed true that Meghan Markle does not have a particularly close relationship with her brother-in-law's wife, Kate Middleton, due to the difference in their personalities. But this isn't the real reason why the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are moving out of their Nottinghill Cottage on the grounds of the Kensington Palace where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge live.
Frogmore estate
Many people with long years of royal service behind them have pointed out that Harry is as strong-willed as his new wife Meghan. He has become more so since Meghan came into his life. He was described by one source as "rather dictatorial" and while he loves his brother, his brother's wife, and his little niece and nephews, Harry is equally keen to move out.
Prince Harry is moving out, not to appease Meghan, but because he wants to escape the goldfish bowl of royal life for the sake of his marriage and his unborn child. It is a move that the sixth in line to the throne believes is for the best of reasons, DailyMail reports.
Still, Harry's decision to move to the secluded Frogmore Cottage has raised eyebrows because it had been widely reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had been eyeing the home of the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, which is Apartment 1 at Kensington Palace, right next to Prince Willaim and Kate's 22-room home.
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, whose kids have left home, were happy to move out for Harry and Meghan Markle. In fact, they are moving out in the new year to live in the vastly smaller Stables Cottage in the palace grounds.
So if the very place Harry and Meghan have so long been linked with is now up available, yet they are not taking it, could it be because of tensions between the brothers and their wives?
Well, a DailyMail source said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had various options to choose from and they only decided after they returned from their recent tour to Australia. They chose Frogmore for several reasons. One reason is the cost of the work that would be needed to bring Apartment 1 up to scratch.
The other reason is that Harry doesn't want to bring his family up in such a visible manner as his brother.
Parts of Kensington Palace are open to the public all year round and this limits the privacy that the royal family can enjoy. Spaces for William's kids to run wild are severely limited. Prince William, as the second in line to the throne, has no choice but to put up with the arrangement as he must have a permanent base in the capital and Kensington Palace is probably the best option.
But Harry is no longer a direct heir to the throne and can be freer with his choices.
